Apple Crumble

Place apples, lemon juice and honey in a non-stick baking dish.

Seperately combine the dry ingredients.

Add the ghee or olive oil and the 1/2cup maple syrop/honey and mix until "crumbly".

Sprinkle crumble mixture on top of apples and bake 45 minute at 350 F.

Variants : This recipe can also be made with added sliced bananas and sliced and pitted dates.
In season, peaches can replace the apples for a wonderful peach crumble.
To the base of apples or peaches any of the small berries such as blueberries can also be added for a healthy, low-fat and nutitious desert or snack.

*ghee is clarified butter, made by heating butter so that the fat seperates and then you keep only the clarified part. Ghee is widely used in Indian cooking to flavor and enhance dishes.

6-8 cups sliced apples
1/4 cup lemon juice
1/2 cup honey
1/2 cup pastry flour
1 1/2 uncooked rolled oats
1/2 cup maple syrop/honey
1/2 ts sea salt
1 tbs cinnamon powder
1/3 cup *ghee* or olive oil
